A new suicide prevention based grant has been launched open to non-profit organisations providing suicide prevention services, activities or interventions (which must be delivered free of charge). Micro-organisations and small to large voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, groups, and community interest companies can apply. Joint consortium bids are also accepted, whereby a lead organisation partners with other smaller organisations.
There is no minimum amount but there is an upper limit of £750,000 covering activity between December 2023 and March 2025. There is a very small window for applications – closing on the 1st October.
In the small window we have available to support applications in Worcestershire, Public Health are creating a short summary sheet on latest published Worcestershire data/areas of concern for suicide prevention (in lieu of an up to date strategy which Public Health are currently developing). To reduce the risk of duplication we are suggesting colleagues share with us if/what applications they are pursuing so we can connect and/or make organisations aware of any like-minded bids and encourage collaboration.
Please notify us at the Alliance or contact SuicidePreventionProgramme@worcestershire.gov.uk directly if you plan to apply.
