ONSIDE set to launch innovative mental health hubs, ‘YourSpace’
ONSIDE are delighted to announce that funding has been secured from the Department of Health and Social Care to deliver innovative mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people across Worcestershire.
YourSpace hubs will provide early access support for young people, aged 11 – 25, without the need for a referral. A skilled and experienced team will help young people develop better coping strategies and ways to improve their mental health. Hubs will be developed in the Malvern Hills, Wychavon, Worcester and Redditch areas.
ONSIDE’s Director of Wellbeing Services, Ruth Heywood, says, ‘We are so pleased we can deliver YourSpace. The open access route makes the service truly all-inclusive. We’re working with young people to create a service that is accessible, engaging and one they can connect with.’
ONSIDE is one of twenty-four providers across the UK who have been chosen to deliver these services. ONSIDE’s YourSpace, will be responsive to local needs, providing a range of joined-up support such as understanding emotions, build confidence, counselling, physical health and advice on housing and employment. YourSpace will work closely with other services provided by ONSIDE and with a wide range of other local partners.
Ruth continues, ‘We are also tailoring our communications in an innovative approach to engage in different ways. It’s an exciting time for ONSIDE, our partners and venues, as we launch the much-needed YourSpace at The Hive in April.’
ONSIDE already works across Worcestershire & Herefordshire, providing a wide range of support services to ensure fairness and equality for all members of the community who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged or discriminated against. The charity supported over 11,000 people in the 2022/23 period.
