Worcestershire VCSE Alliance is pleased to welcome Julia Neal as Vice-Chair – ‘The unique contribution that the VCSE sector brings to the prevention and personalisation agenda has never had such potential to be properly recognised.‘
Julia started her career in nursing and has over thirty five years’ experience in a variety of health and care roles in the statutory and voluntary sector, including the British Heart Foundation and more recently as a director of a medical education charity. She is currently CEO of Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire. She has also worked in a senior commissioning role for Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG and has a passion for helping people to live well at the end of their life.
‘Having a keen awareness of the local and national strategic context in health and social care
from a VCSE perspective, I believe I can contribute meaningfully to the Alliance’s alignment
with broader objectives.’ – Julia
Julia also volunteers as a Trustee for KEMP Hospice. Her leadership and management skills, together with her experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for the residents of Worcestershire, mean that she is well placed to support the development of the VCSE Alliance in her role as Vice Chair.
‘I am excited by this opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and effective governance of
the Alliance. The unique contribution that the VCSE sector brings to the prevention and
personalisation agenda has never had such potential to be properly recognised. Whilst this is
promising, I am very mindful that we must retain our independence both as a sector and
as individual organisations.’ – Julia
