Community Action Malvern and District (CAMD) is a local charity with the aim of preventing older and disabled people becoming isolated and lonely.The Chief Officer will lead, manage and develop the operational functions and the employed staff of CAMD under the strategic guidance of the Chairman and Board of Trustees, with our clients as the central focus of everything we do.
The charity operates a range of transport and social services with 3 minibuses,2 wheelchair vehicles, 10 staff and around 150 volunteers, with a total annual turnover of c. £200k.We are operating a pilot Demand Responsive Transport service for Worcestershire County Council which is set to replace some of our traditional community bus services; we have just moved to new High Street office premises, giving greater visibility to the community and much improved accessibility for clients and volunteers, and we have also recently established a Volunteer Centre for Malvern Hills.
We’re looking for someone with substantial charity and transport management experience, good literacy, numeracy, articulacy and IT skills, who shares the values of CAMD.
