Community Boost, the organisation that has generated over £2million in grant aid for voluntary and community organisations, is now offering its services free of charge to voluntary/community groups in Worcester, thanks to a partnership with Worcester Community Trust and a grant from the Strengthening Worcestershire Fund.
Keith Slater, the man behind Community Boost, said “This funding is so important as there are now an ever-increasing number of small organisations in Worcester who have bag loads of enthusiasm, care and commitment. What they often do not have is funding. So our key question is always, could your organisation use £10,000?“
The Boost has put a small team together to help community organisations get started and hopefully access their first grant. Alongside Keith Slater is Kelly-Louise Riding who now runs Embodied Communities CIC. Three years ago Kelly had a deep desire, based on her own life experience, to offer therapeutic support to women living with the effects of domestic abuse.
Three years on Kelly has turned this idea into an organisation that has already worked with over 100 women in Worcester. Completing the team is Olivia Jones. Olivia has for the last 16 years co-managed KO Sport, a highly successful dance, sport and fitness company in Worcestershire. Olivia has joined the team to offer everyone support and guidance when it comes to producing any required policies and risk assessments.
