Worcestershire VCSE Alliance Update

We’re pleased to share some important developments within the Worcestershire VCSE Alliance.

Governance and Management Update

The Alliance is building a closer working relationship with Community Power CIO, who deliver similar services in Herefordshire. For the next 12 months, Community Power will operate across both counties, working alongside the Alliance Board to enhance collaboration and increase capacity. This partnership will enable stronger connections and deliver greater impact across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

To guide the Alliance through this next phase, we are recruiting a new Independent Chair. Amanda Kilroy stepped down from the Independent Chair role at the end of 2024, to take up new opportunities. Amanda achieved significant developments during her tenure, including reviewing the focus for the next Independent Chair. We are grateful for her dynamic and effective leadership and dedication.

Staffing Update

Esther Passingham, the VCSE Lead, has transitioned to Worcestershire County Council to oversee a range of VCSE projects aligned with council objectives. Though she will no longer be with the Alliance, she will continue to collaborate with the Alliance Board and Community Power CIO. Esther has been a driving force in establishing the Alliance and has helped to build a strong foundation for the new Alliance leadership to build from.

Leigh-Anne will also soon be moving on to a new role as Volunteer Manager at BSAVA. With her departure, the Alliance’s communication function will now be managed by Community Power.

We are incredibly grateful to Esther and Leigh-Anne for their valuable contributions to the Alliance and wish them both every success in the future.
